Tree relocation project
On February 16, 2017 a paperbark maple tree was removed from the front of the old Agricultural Sciences building site and relocated to the front of the new Agricultural building.

Retired WVU professor George Longenecker purchased the tree as a seedling 40 years ago and planted it in front of the old agricultural sciences building on campus. He taught plant materials courses for horticulture and landscape architecture for 39 years at the university and has been retired since 2005.
