Recycling Services
The Recycling Services team works toward collecting and processing all recyclable material within the university. There are available bins for recyclables throughout WVU, which are collected daily from residence halls and academic buildings across all three campuses, including the Mountainlair, CAC, Coliseum, Alumni Center, and PRT stations.
| West Virginia University currently recycles: | |
| -paper | -toner cartridges |
| -plastic (#1 ONLY) | -steel cans |
| -scrap metal | -cardboard |
| -aluminum | -fluorescent tubes |
| -textiles | -electronics |
The recycling team is available to assist with special pick-ups of material, including that of a confidential nature. In partnership with WVU Printing Services, Recycling Services offers paper shredding services for secure documents.
Paper products previously used for food preparation and consumption cannot be recycled, as they often leave irremovable waste. Acceptable forms include: newspaper, magazines, manila folders, glossy junk mail, packaging cardboard (soda cartons, letterhead boxes, etc.). Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed.
To arrange this service and for general recycling information, you may contact Traci Liebig at 304-293-9500, or by email: Traci.Liebig@mail.wvu.edu
