General Duties

The Central Operations, Student Rec. Center, Mountainlair Student Union, Management staff strives to maintain the Administrative buildings as well as Student Union, Rec. Center on both campuses in a safe, aesthetically pleasing, clean and comfortable environment conductive to living, learning, and working. Areas of the buildings included in this responsibility are: Meeting rooms, ballrooms, classrooms, offices, sports facilities, basketball courts, workout facilities, child care & nursery, President Offices, libraries and other areas in the buildings.

The Mountainlair and Rec. Center cleaning staff work a 24-hour, 7-day work week schedule for the convenience of the students, faculty, and staff in order to maximize their effectiveness. Central Operations and administrative buildings work a 5 pm to 1 am working shift to effectively clean the facilities.

The Mountainlair Student Union staff must not only clean and take care of the minor maintenance for the Student Union, but also do all set-ups for 13 meeting rooms, 2 ballrooms and 1 large area called the common area. They will in a year’s time do 9000 set-ups for approximately 700,000 people. They do all clean up for 6 different food vendors in a food court type of area. Clean a bowling and pub area and still have several student clubs office and support staff office within the facility.

Student Rec. Center has just past the 8 million mark for the number of students and patrons using the facility since opening in 2001. Facility has 7 basketball courts, 2 swimming pools, 4 racquetball courts, 2 large weight lifting and excise areas, and 3 multi-purpose rooms for group activities.

Our Central Operations staff clean and maintain all administrative buildings on both campus which include the President facility, One Waterfront a 7 story building housing all administrative offices, Child Care and Nursery facilities, Police department, Roads & Grounds facilities, and several off sites facilities belonging the University.
